Hemplyne, hemp based composites, fully biodegradable, fit for existing injection moulds.

One of the biggest threats to our environment is plastic pollution, not only in our oceans, but throughout our entire atmosphere. 

Oil based, chemical plastics fall apart into nano-particles, which do not degrade, they float around in our atmosphere, all around the globe, and they land everywhere. It is known that these nano-particles land on grass and flowers, and enter our food, like milk and honey, through ingestion by cows and bees.Our hemp plastic division is named Cannaparts, with Pit Demmer in charge of research and development, besides making sure our materials and products maintain the highest possible quality and, he is available for companies to offer solutions and advice with and for their products and machinery.

There is a floating continent of plastic in our oceans, and, that humungous pile of plastic falls apart into nano-particles too, you can guess in which part of our food chain they end up in.From now on, we will be looking out to make products for other industries, in order to rid more companies and businesses from dirty plastics. Our environment needs a change like this!

We do not pretend to be able to solve those problems, but we can at least offer our biodegradable materials, Hemplyne composites, and the products made with these granulates, as a clean and harmless alternative for the suffocating blanket of plastic we produced ourselves!

Hemplyne is mainly composed of hemp fiber, corn based polyacids and lignin, which is a waste product from the paper industry. Other possible organic materials are being added to get more diversity and flexibility  to our materials. The percentage of hemp in the composites depends on the demands of the client and the product. The percentage of hemp can be as high as 75 % in big, thick-walled products, up from around 20 % hemp fiber in fine, thin products.

All Hemplyne composites are completely biobased and biodegradable, it will be turned into compost in ~18 months, but only if exposed to air, water and micro-organisms at the same time. Our materials do not just dissolve in a storm or a rain shower. If a Hemplyne product ends up in the sea, it will dissolve completely, although that will take some more time than in soil, but in the end, it will dissolve completely, leaving no traces of pollution or everlasting particles

Our first line of products is aimed to clean up the cannabis culture, we produce joint cones, grinders, rolling trays, seed tubes and seed containers with Hemplyne already, and we aim to even make the gripbags out of biodegradable materials.

We were awarded with the ‘Best Industrial Hemp Product’ trophy during last year’s Expogrow in Irun, Spain, for our granulates and our first product, the Greencone joint tube.

Besides the honor, we were asked to produce the tokens for beverages and the drinking cups for this year’s event with our materials!

Our partner and creator of Hemplyne, Pit Demmer, already cooperates with 3 German companies, producing our products in their existing moulds, and we have tested succesfully with a Dutch injection company, we will work together in producing their former plastic products with Hemplyne from now on. Pit can compose the material to the needs of the product and customer, he also assists in changing the protocol of injection slightly, compared to ‘ordinary’ plastics.
